Sweet Bubby Max's 9 Month Check Up

My baby boy is already 9 months! Maxer is definitely a Mommy's boy right now. I love it sometimes, but I really hope that it is a phase that he out grows soon for everyone's sake! But I do admit it makes me feel a lil special that he really does prefer me over most ;) Max is very content to sit still or be held. He really could care less about crawling. He loves to hold my hands and stand and bounce, but crawling on his own really doesnt interest him. My sitter says its a good thing ;) but I think we are gonna start having some major practice sessions when I get back from Vegas!! (Yes Mommy and Daddy are going to Vegas for 4 days!! Grammy and Poppa will probably be waiting at the airport for us on Saturday after having the boys the whole time!)
Max is such a happy and smiley baby. It takes nothing to make this boy grin. He smiles all over. He locks his legs, flaps his arms and cheeses from one ear to the other with dimples on both cheeks. It's one of my most favorite things ever!

Max is obviously much different from his big brother. He seems content, but also very demanding of attention at times. Max will sit back and watch, where Mc was always right in the middle of everything.

Max sleeps from about 7:30pm (if Mommy and Daddy are on their game and get Mc down at 7:20) until 7:00am on most occassions. Every now and then he likes to hangout with Mommy around 11:00pm (which I'm still awake so its not horrible) and/or 5:00am (which is maybe a lil horrible! haha!). Max loves to eat, whether it be baby food or his bottles. He still takes a paci, but that is also on Mommy's list of things to do when she gets back from Vegas. He really only takes it because its there. If its not he might not go to sleep as fast or may whine a little after his bottle is empty, but I think it will be an easy transition if we can make it past the first few days. Overall he really is just perfect. Sure he whines for Mommy or if he is left alone too long (or at all on bad days ;) ) but he is just the cutest thing and I can't imagine anyone wanting to put him down anyways!

Max had his 9 month check up today. Yes, he got a shot. And, yes, I said "A". We decided to only do one vaccination at a time. We could discuss or debate this issue over and over, but I am very happy with my decision right now and it has seemed to work great with both boys.

Anyways the Doc said that Max was just perfect, not to be concerned with anything. He is strong enough to pull up and crawl, but just decided he doesn't wanna right now! So, really she told me my baby lacked initiative. Haha! Then she shocked me when she told me my lil chunk was in the 25th percentile for both height and weight!!! It's crazy to think this lil guy with rolls up and down his legs and lil gut could be underweight! She said she wouldn't consider him underweight just evening things out and will probably strech and thin out and start transitioning into what his true body will be. Whatever that means?

So our goals for our next appt, 1yr, are to be rid of the paci, master crawling and be training for walking if not already doing so, also master the sippy and be ready to dump the bottle, and increase table foods as much as possible. Oh and maybe add a few teeth in there along the way!

All I know is the last nine months has definitely been the best and busiest of my life and each day just gets better!

Here are some of my baby bubby's recent pics:

Max in sleepy mode after his bath

Max pretending like he wants to crawl, but he never attempts to move from this position

McClain putting on a crawling practice session. Mc crawls next to Max and calls him like a dog saying "come on Bubby, come on" Max just sits there.

Again, not moving, but at least in the right position

And again

He is such a happy baby. Smiles all the time showing off those precious dimples!

I just love him too much!
